When I was five I fell in love with ballet class; the party polka, spring points, physical rigor, and music were all completely enthralling! I eventually engaged in professional training at The Boston Ballet School, performing regularly in large scale productions at The Wang Center, initially in children's roles and eventually with the corps de ballet. At The Boston Ballet School, I was introduced to pilates, taking weekly mat classes for almost 10 years.

Ultimately I decided that a career in pointe shoes was not my destiny and attended Barnard College of Columbia University where I studied modern dance as well as literature, architecture, psychology, economics, women's studies, and much more. After graduating, I worked as a professional freelance dancer, simultaneously supporting my performance career by teaching dance and pilates.

Eager to increase my understanding of the moving body, in 2012 I moved to London, England to pursue an MSc in Dance Science from Trinity Laban. Dance Science is an interdisciplinary field that studies all measurable components of dance, including physiology, nutrition, and psychology. Back in NYC, fortified with this degree, I investigate the multitude of questions about the body in motion that intrigue me while teaching or performing.

I teach pilates, modern dance, and ballet and host wellness talks throughout the NYC area. I have contributed a number of articles to Dance Magazine, Pointe, Dance Spirit, and Dance Teacher. I am also a co-creator of DanceWell Podcast, a resource that provides 360-degrees of health and wellness content for dancers, and I chair of the Dance Educators’ Committee for the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science.
